It's good to be back, and I appreciate the kind words from all of you who have been so patient during my year-long hiatus from the comic.
I'm sure you've all noticed that I've moved BCK to a section of my blog site...
This is so I don't have to maintain as many sites, thus freeing up more time for other things. The merger has not been without trauma, and I'm still getting a few things adjusted and back into place. I may see if I can bug a friend here in Lawrence (Bruce) to see if I can get him to do some of the regular tasks on the site so that I can give you more comics. (Incidentally, if you run across anyone linked to the old comic site instead of this one, let 'em know the new url is robhamm.com/bluecrashkit if you don't mind.)
As you may have already read, I'm drawing the comic myself now, which means I can't blame any future gaps on artist woes. I do plan to work with a couple of local artists eventually, but first I want to do it myself for long enough to feel confident in my ability to draw the characters without constantly referring to Shan's work.
I plan at least one update a week, and hope to work up to at least three (after that, who know? Maybe back to seven days a week?). Updates may be slow and sporadic starting back up, though, for several reasons--
1. I am working on redoing http://www.lanerobins.com, including building three custom themes for various sections of it loosely based on mockups she had done elsewhere.
2. I am going through the tutorials, updating them, merging some, reclassifying some, redoing and re-adding the images, etc., and working to get some new tutorials in place, as well.
3. I am seeking out say, ten to twenty more clients for my tiny little web hosting company, LawrenceHost, and maybe some people who need help building Drupal sites.
(Now, this next part isn't a sales pitch, but an explanation, because people keep asking me why I don't really advertise and don't grab all the clients that I can: I don't want more clients than I feel I can support, and I put fewer accounts on a server than most hosts to keep things fast for everyone--I've even turned down clients at times. I'm also careful to make sure any recently-added clients are broken in and comfortable with things before I add more. Since everyone I host gets my personal cell number, getting the newbies broken in means fewer, "Oh noes I breakeded my site!," calls at three am.)
4. I am (still) working on my first novel (finally making good progress on it), and writing short stories.
(An aside: I am a little disappointed that someone else just published a novel titled The Cemetery Dance, since my original title was The Cemetery Dancers. Kij had already advised me to change the title since there used to be a magazine by that name, Lane concurred, and even if not for the magazine, they were right about changing it--It would no longer fit the story anyway. Still, though...)
5. I still want to blog.
6. Probably about a dozen other things I forgot to mention here.
Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome back. I love you all more than cheese.

glad to see you up and running

Thanks. And really? Nearly every day? Cool! I feel loved.

And I hope all is well with you and Shan. You know, I was just opening one of my notebooks and I noticed that the drawing she made for me when I visited was in it! That was really cool. Heh heh heh...
Hope the coffeemaker is still working! It must be over 2 years old if it's still working!

Thanks, man. *hugs*
And heh... Yeah, we're still using the coffee maker you bought us when you were here. You should visit every time an appliance breaks down.
Well that's all awesome news...and I'll definitely shoot people your way if they need hosting, heh heh!
